Wealthtime embeds Origo Unipass Letter of Authority in digital-first offering

Wealthtime has embedded Origo’s Unipass Letter of Authority (ULoA) technology as part of its ongoing digital-first efficiency drive and making working with the platform easier for advisers.

Eden Scrivenger, chief technology and operations officer at Wealthtime, said the use of UloA was part of making things easier for advisers and their clients “at every step of the journey”, including doing away with the need for wet signatures.

She said: In a digital age, requiring wet ink signatures for LoAs causes unnecessary processing delays in tasks that should be quick and straightforward.

“We are therefore very pleased, through the adoption of Origo’s Unipass LoA service, to be able to streamline and speed up the LoA process for advisers using our platforms. It’s a great example of digital-first solutions benefiting everyone involved.”

Origo’s ULoA is a digital service which significantly increases the speed of sending and receiving LoAs.

Advisers signed up to the ULoA portal and using the Wealthtime platforms can now use the technology for speedier client approvals, to request policy details from multiple providers digitally, and handle client paperwork quickly online.

It also provides real-time information enabling advisers and paraplanners to track the status of LoAs at every step of the process, without having to pick up the phone.

Anthony Rafferty, CEO at Origo, said: “By adopting the solution, Wealthtime sets a powerful example as a digital-first organisation – helping to bring faster and easier ways of working to the adviser market.

“ULoA will play a pivotal role in increasing efficiencies and sustainability efforts within financial services and is a clear indicator of the future direction for the industry.

The implementation of ULoA by Wealthtime is a perfect example of this in action. It showcases how secure digital communication can have a profound impact, not just on the bottom line, but on the planet.”

Origo recently announced that 16 providers are now signed up to or part of the live adoption group for the Unipass Letter of Authority service.

Rafferty added: “Providers want to make doing business with them as easy and cost efficient as possible, for all parties. We’ve proven that using a digital process makes commercial sense for providers, resulting in a strong and growing pipeline for Unipass Letter of Authority.”
