M&G Wealth seminar: Taking Politics out of Planning

M&G Wealth is running a series of CPD-accredited online seminars on Tuesday 23 April 2024, where industry experts will delve into the impact of domestic and geopolitical changes on business, investment, regulation, and planning.

In the first session – “Talking Politics” – Iain Anderson from H/Advisors Cicero and Russell Facer from Threesixty will unpack the key policies you need to keep in mind amidst a year when over 50% of world GDP is going to the polls. Gain valuable insights into how these policies will shape the business and investment landscape.

in the second session you can discover how to navigate the regulatory landscape – “Taking the Politics Out of Regulation” – where Andy Nash and Vince Smith-Hughes will explore two of the key regulatory requirements impacting the advice market this year – the Retirement Income Thematic Review and Consumer Duty – and the actions you may need to be taking now.

In “Taking the Politics Out of Investment”, Shanti Kelemen, Michael Watt and Ben Troke will shed light on the rising geopolitical tensions and conflicts that have emerged in recent years and the potential risks these changes pose to global trade patterns, the use of the dollar as a reserve currency, and technological development.

Les Cameron and Vince Smith-Hughes will run the fourth session “Taking the Politics Out of Planning” where they’ll explore the current tax landscape and its impact on the advice market. Dive into topics such as tax wrappers, annual and lifetime allowance rules and the implications of IHT and trust planning. There will be a closing Q&A session where you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions.

Sessions 1 to 4 each qualify for CPD and attending all four sessions will earn up to 165 minutes Structured CPD accredited by CII and CISI (excluding the Q&A session).
