Co-Laboratory announces new soft skills session

14 July 2023

Co-Laboratory to run ‘Getting others to see your point of view” session on 26 July.

Caroline Stuart and Melisa Kidd will be running the third Co-Laboratory session on Wednesday 26th July at 12.30pm for an hour and this time will be looking at communication and influencing skills. The online event is free and everyone is welcome.Aimed at financial planning professionals and with an emphasis on developing day-to-day communication and ‘human’ skills, the Co-Laboratory provides an opportunity for people to learn and share their expertise.

Melissa and Caroline started the Co-Laboratory to develop the ‘human’ side of finance, in a profession which has tended to focus on technical exams and capabilities whilst the people skills can often get overlooked.

Lee Robertson founder and CEO of Octo Members will also be joining the session to share his wealth of wisdom on the subject.

Caroline says: “From struggling to get your point of view across to making sure your message not only gets received and understood but also gets actioned, are everyday communication challenges we can all face. So bringing people together to share ideas and practical ways to address them is hopefully going to be helpful.”

Melissa adds: “The Co-Lab is becoming a lively community of change-makers, where everyone can share ideas and expertise, helping us all enhance our knowledge and skills so we can make clients’ lives easier. It’s just what we had envisioned.”
