“What I’d like to see is a standard means to request information from providers. You can request the same information from three different providers and you’ll get the information in three totally different formats. Also, you can almost guarantee that one will miss off a load of the information you need and you’ll then have to chase that up. The number one bugbear is providers not giving the information you’ve asked for. And it will depend on how up-to-date they are in their admin as to how quickly you get the information.
“What we need is an industry standard form – that is a recognised by all the industry – that provides everything you need to know, and each provider uses that form and replies in that format. But I’m not going to hold my breath on that happening.”
