Origo CEO urges the finance industry to share its pain points

11 August 2023

Origo CEO Anthony Rafferty has urged the finance industry to share their pain points so that the fintech industry can find solutions.

Rafferty said: “We are interested in ideas and any pain points that the industry has. We are perfectly positioned to develop new solutions to better help do what we have always done over the past 34 years, empower the industry to become more efficient, cost effective and most importantly, deliver better outcomes for consumers.”

In 2022, Origo was acquired by private equity firm Vespa and says the development has provided it with greater flexibility and the ability to bring solutions to market faster.

Unipass Letter of Authority is an industry-focused service which is proving particularly successful, according to Rafferty. The digital solution integrates with provider systems and pipes the requested details back far faster tha current paper-based processes.

“Unipass Letter of Authority gives the industry a key way to improve this element of advisers’ onboarding service. This is a service that advisers have had at the top of their wish list for a number of years and anybody who has gone for financial advice will know just how broken the current, often manual, process is.

“Providers are quickly realising the benefits Unipass Letter of Authority delivers for them, advice firms and the end client.”

Origo is also working with PDP and MaPS on the Pensions Dashboard and has delivered the Origo Dashboard Connector, which will connect pension companies to the dashboard’s central digital architecture.

Rafferty added: “Consumer Duty requires companies to look at every aspect of their business to ensure good outcomes for consumers and avoid foreseeable harm. We expect to see more companies turn to technology to help them address the pain points in their processes and to ensure their service levels deliver against the new rules.”

Aviva recently announced it was using Unipass Letter of Authority for its protection products followed by James Hay who said it would be “bringing the same efficiency to the Nucleus platform soon”.r

Last week Scottish Widows Platform announced its partnership with Origo to use the Origo Integration Hub.
