Role Overview:
We have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced paraplanner to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone looking to further their paraplanning career.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Technical Support
- Provide technical support, research, recommendations and financial analysis to our Financial Planner clients.
- Analyse clients’ aims, identify areas for planning and assist in constructing tailored solutions for Financial Planners to present.
- Produce robust financial plans, suitability reports and supporting documentation.
- Undertake ad-hoc technical assignments and projects.
- Support admin team with preparation of review documentation where necessary.
Documentation & Suitability Reports
- Draft suitability reports, ensuring they align with FCA requirements while being clear and client specific.
- Incorporate bespoke, personalised explanations as needed, beyond standard templates.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure adherence to Conduct Risk standards, FCA rules, regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and support administrative tasks, maintaining deadlines and service standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CPD records.
Collaboration & Team Support
- Assist junior team members and collaborate with senior colleagues on complex cases.
- Facilitate smooth processing of caseload by liaising promptly with the Financial Planners’ administrative support teams.
- Contribute to team objectives and the broader business plan.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Essential: CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent), or significant progress towards achieving this qualification.
- Desirable: Working towards Chartered Financial Planner status or further specialist qualifications.

Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of financial planning areas: investment planning, retirement planning, protection, and estate planning.
- Broad knowledge of core financial planning products and solutions.
- Knowledge of FCA suitability requirements, industry regulations and compliance standards.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for varied audiences.
- High-quality report writing, free from jargon, with attention to grammar and structure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with Financial Planner clients, administrative support teams, and colleagues.
Analytical and Detail-Oriented
- Exceptional accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Ability to interpret complex data and construct actionable solutions.
Organisational Skills
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise workloads, juggle competing tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Effective collaboration in a team-oriented environment.
Technology Proficiency
- Competence in using MS Office and financial planning software packages.
Experience
- Proven experience in a paraplanning role within a financial planning firm.
- Experience using a wide range of provider products and services.
- Demonstrated ability to work with templated and bespoke suitability reports.

Location
Our office is based in Oakham, Rutland. We work in the office 2 days per week and remotely 3 days per week.
