HSBC UK launches new wealth academy

29 September 2025

HSBC UK will launch a new wealth academy in partnership with London Business School this autumn.

The academy will provide educational resources, best practice and academic accreditations for professionals in the wealth management industry.

The structured programme will enable students to develop their expertise and knowledge, from foundational wealth principles through to advanced investment strategies. It will include three pillars: the ‘Wealth Knowledge Hub’, the ‘Wealth Live Learning’ and the ‘Wealth Excellence Aspiration’ Programme.

According to HSBC, the foundation course will be open to all HSBC UK colleagues, with “top performing” advisers able to gain access to the Wealth Excellence curriculum, accredited by the London Business School.

Christopher Dean, managing director of wealth, premier and personal banking at HSBC UK, said: “It is no secret that there is a growing talent shortage within the wealth management industry in the UK at a time where customer demand continues to grow and client needs are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

“To continue to offer our customers standout, personalised services, we are focussed on creating world-class training capabilities and investing in our people’s development over the long term.”

The launch is part of a wider push to grow the wealth division and enable HSBC to become a ‘top five’ wealth manager in the next few years.

The academy is being rolled out across 15 markets globally and sits alongside HSBC UK’s existing ‘Academy Pathway’ development programme which was launched in 2024.
