The FCA has appointed two new members to the Sustainable Finance Advisory Committee – Elly Dowding, Director of ESG Accord and Farnam Bidgoli, Independent Adviser.
The regulator said that the new appointments are in line with its commitment made earlier in the year to “refresh” the Committee.
In line with good governance, the FCA said, it plans to change the membership on a staggered basis, allowing new expertise to be brought in “whilst benefiting from some continuity”.
The FCA thanked Desiree Fixler and Harald Walkate, who are stepping down after three years of service.
It added: “The Committee continues to play an important role in advising the FCA on sustainable finance-related issues, including emerging trends and strategic developments, in line with our objectives.”
Lee Coates, fellow director at ESG Accord, said: “Elly is so excited about this opportunity to work at the heart of the Regulator, advising the board on issues close to her heart, bringing her technical compliance and sustainability knowledge and of course, her experience of working with financial advisers, discretionary fund managers and fund managers.”
