Following the launch of their Consumer Duty e-learning module on Monday 31 October, The Verve Group has now revealed its new Consumer Duty readiness programme of workshops.
The Consumer Duty Support Programme consists of a series of monthly workshops covering the areas that firms have said would be the pinch points in implementation for them, as well as topics identified from firms’ Consumer Duty risk assessments.
The programme starts in November and will support advisers over 10 months right through to the FCA deadline of 31 July 2023, finishing off with a final review in August.
The first stage of the programme will include:
November: Review and refresh, let’s polish your implementation plan.
December: Build on your business foundations with PROD segmentation.
January: Fair Value Assessment – how do you add real value for your clients?
Firms can sign up for the whole support programme or pick and choose the topics that they need. The programme focuses on the information advisers need and how it is applicable to their firm. Participants will get templates, advice, questions answered and full support throughout.
Christian Markwick, head of Adviser Support at The Verve Group* says: “Following all of the general ‘what is consumer duty’ presentations and chats we have done over the past few months, and the development of our guide and training module, we are now getting into the nitty gritty of the smaller pieces like fair value assessments and consumer understanding and thinking about how we can specifically help firms in the best way possible.
For these workshops, we have a topic of conversation to work on each month and firms can engage on that topic specifically or ask us for assistance with reviewing anything they’re working on. We want these sessions to be small numbers so that they are as engaging and useful for advisers as possible.”
