Plan Works appoints NED in next stage of expansion
1 December 2020
Outsourced paraplanning firm Plan Works has appointed the former PFS President Adam Owen as a Non-Executive Director (NED), as part of the firm’s expansion plans which began in September when Siân Davies Cole joined the business to partner founder Nathan Fryer (pictured).
Speaking about his appointment Owen said: “I have been interested in the development of the relationship between financial planning firms and outsourced paraplanners for a number of years. Complexity within financial planning continues to increase with added pressures on firms from regulatory changes and increasing regulatory costs. Now more than ever planning firms are considering outsourcing options to broaden the knowledge and experience available to them.
“I am excited to be joining Plan Works at a key stage of their development and will be focusing on how we can build truly interdependent relationships between the paraplanning and financial planning functions across businesses.”
Fryer established Plan Works in 2013 and brought in Davies Cole to help expand its tax planning and consultancy service in September. See Paraplanner Profile in the October 2020 issue of Professional Paraplanner.
Paraplanning Administrator Isabel Pook will be joining the team shortly as part of its expansion plans.
Commenting on Owen’s appointment, director Siân Davies Cole said, “A lot has changed this year, for me personally, the financial planning world and for Plan Works specifically and I see Adam joining us as paving the way for the future success of the firm. As part of the Next Gen Planners team, Adam has helped them to focus and grow which is what I want for Plan Works but also to ensure that we are acting within our own personal and professional standards in growing the firm.”
Nathan Fryer added: “I am genuinely excited to welcome Adam to the Plan Works team, his experience of the adviser space and general business practices has already added a great deal of value. His ideas have really opened my eyes to the potential of Plan Works whilst always focussing on our vision and values.”
