Fidelity data show increased demand for sustainable energy trusts

14 November 2024

Fidelity’s monthly investment trust sales data for October showcases a notable rise in demand for investment trusts focused on sustainable energy, the firm says.

Ed Monk, Associate Director, Fidelity International, said: “Sustainable energy-focused trusts surged in popularity this month.”

He flagged Greencoat UK Wind, as the only trust to have previously ranked in the top 10 best selling ISA investment trusts recorded by the firm.

“This month it was joined by new entrants: SDCL Energy Efficiency Income, Gresham House Energy Storage Fund, and VH Global Sustainable Energy Opportunities,” Monk said. “These trusts, primarily investing in renewable and efficient energy sources, appeal to investors looking to align their portfolios with environmental values while potentially benefiting from long-term demand for clean energy solutions.

“Trusts like Greencoat UK Wind and VH Global Sustainable Energy are designed to provide exposure to critical infrastructure supporting the transition to cleaner energy.”
