Markets in 2025 proved to be volatile against a backdrop of continuing geopolitical uncertainty, US President Donald Trump’s worldwide tariff deals and the weakness of the dollar. Yet this saw gold and emerging markets in particular benefit, while major stock markets have performed on the upside during the year.
The AI boom is continuing to underpin strong corporate earnings forecasts but with the performance of the US stock markets resting largely on a few tech companies, and with, at time of writing, the S&P trading at 23 times forward price-to-earnings and some individual stocks trading at 30 times earnings, questions are being asked about whether this can be sustained.
The big question is which sectors and markets could be the winners by the end of 2026 – and which may suffer in performance.
What is clear is the need for careful selection of investments and the need to diversify risk.
To help you in your decision-making we are bringing you a range of asset managers to talk to their areas of expertise and how they see the markets panning out in 2026. Our line up currently includes Baillie Gifford, Schroders, EdenTree and Time Investments, with others to be announced shortly.
They will look at the threats to growth but also the opportunities arising from the fundamentals underpinning the markets.
The seminar is in-person and is a must attend event for all paraplanners sitting on their firms’ Investment Committees or who are involved in researching and recommending investments for client portfolios, MPS, CIPs and CRPs.
Paraplanners with an active interest in the investment markets are also welcome as are trainee advisers.
