A warm welcome to the new PFS Paraplanning Panel members

31 March 2026

The PFS Paraplanning Panel has grown thanks to a recent campaign to recruit new members. Long standing member Sophie Brown tells us more.

Earlier this year, Panel Chair Alan Gow spoke to Professional Paraplanner about the latest recruitment campaign for the PFS Paraplanner Panel. At the time, we were looking for four new members to join the team…well, we got five!

New members James Mullarkey, Sam Harvey, Rajveet Kaur Kang, Mark Tan and Nicola Sturgess join Alan Gow, Phil Greenwood, Hannah Wynick and Sophie Brown.

Each member brings something different to the team but with a common theme, to give back to the paraplanning profession.

James Mullarkey, Senior Paraplanner at Handelsbanken Wealth, is “looking to get people passionate about paraplanning and financial advice generally. I am particularly keen to help champion paraplanners voices, support best practice and contribute to initiatives that build the paraplanning community.”

Sam Harvey, Senior Paraplanner at Christie Financial Planning; “I firmly believe that paraplanning is such an exciting and ever-changing career to be in and not just treated as a stepping-stone to advice. I joined to shout from the rooftops that paraplanning is an amazing career along with advocating disabilities and neurodiversity within the paraplanning community.”

Rajveet Kaur Kang, now Development Manager for Paraplanners at Chase de Vere said, “I joined because being a paraplanner shaped my whole career. It is an incredible career in its own standing.”

Mark Tan, Founder of PRISM.T: “I strongly believe paraplanners play a critical role in shaping high-quality advice, and I am committed to promoting technical excellence, collaboration and continued professional development across the community.”

Nicola Sturgess, who recently set up her own outsourced paraplanning business, LRO Financial Consultancy, added: “I joined to be able to give back after so many years of being mentored within my various roles. I am excited to be part of a community who are passionate about what they do and who are striving to support advisers in delivering holistic, high quality advice.”

The new members have joined at just the right time to get involved in the upcoming Purely Paraplanning Conferences – a day run by paraplanners, for paraplanners! The conferences are being held in two locations this year – London on Tuesday 12th May and Manchester on Thursday 21st May.

The conferences are focused on empowering and supporting the paraplanning community. The recently released programme outlines a day of relevant, timely sessions from focus on technical topics as well as development sessions aimed at all levels.
