Compliance and Training Solutions (CATS) is inviting paraplanners from across the profession to join its Annual Paraplanners Conference on 4 June 2026, with Professional Paraplanner readers able to access the event at an exclusive discounted rate of £40 + VAT. (Standard rate for non-CATS clients is £55 + vat).
Now firmly established as one of the must‑attend dates in the paraplanner calendar, the CATS Annual Conference is designed to deliver a full day of practical, technical, and compliance‑focused insight, giving paraplanners information they can apply immediately in their day‑to‑day roles.
The conference will run from 9.15am to 5.30pm and will provide a broad mix of topical updates, technical sessions and panel discussion, covering compliance, product developments, due diligence, and emerging areas advisers and paraplanners are increasingly being asked about.
Packed, paraplanner‑focused agenda
The day opens with a Compliance Update from Mel Holman, bringing delegates fully up to date with what’s coming down the line from a regulatory point of view.
This will be followed by a session on BPR products, exploring key considerations and developments in this complex area, before a compliance panel session featuring Mel Holman alongside Carole, Gemma and Ian, offering multiple perspectives on regulatory challenges and practical solutions.
The morning continues with a VCT and EIS update from Matt Brown of RAM Capital, providing insight into current market dynamics and suitability considerations.
After lunch, the focus turns to operational and technical capability. Nathan from PlanWorks will deliver a session on conducting effective platform due diligence, followed by M&G’s technical training session on bond calculations, aimed at building confidence in an area that frequently causes uncertainty.
Later in the afternoon, Lee Coates from In Accord will share insight from his work in the sector, before the day concludes with a forward‑looking session from Danial Parkinson, The Bitcoin IFA, addressing digital assets and the questions paraplanners are increasingly encountering.
Throughout the day, sessions are designed to combine technical depth with a strong compliance backbone, ensuring paraplanners not only understand the “how”, but also the regulatory context behind advice.
