Verve Group releases Consumer Duty e-learning module

31 October 2022

The Verve Group has launched a Consumer Duty e-learning module through its training arm, The Art of Finance.

The new training module, part of the Group’s available resources to help advice firms through Consumer Duty implementation aims to help firms begin to implement the Duty into their business, looking at the processes and procedures required as well as helpful hints and tips throughout.

The learning outcomes of the module are:

  • Understand what the Duty is.
  • Explain the Consumer Principle, cross-cutting rules and outcomes.
  • Monitor the implementation and success of the Duty in your firm.
  • Discuss the implications of the Duty on your firm’s culture and how to action accountability and governance.

Maddie Delboy, head of Regulatory Support says: “Consumer Duty is one of the largest pieces of regulation from the FCA in a number of years. Their expectation is that this will lead to a culture shift throughout financial services. So everyone in the industry needs to understand the Duty; the new Principle, the cross-cutting rules and the outcomes, and how all of this should be implemented for one purpose – the good of the end client.”

Whether you already have some knowledge or are coming in cold, The Verve Group’s Consumer Duty module has everything you need to feel more confident about implementation before the July 31st 2023 deadline. With activities, quizzes and useful examples to cement your understanding, the module is a great foundation to understand the regulation.
