Succession plans

Having a paraplanner as managing director of the firm is unusual. Richard explains that he is also a financial planner and investment adviser and the appointment was part of the firm’s succession plan that will see Paul Etheridge gradually take retirement and Richard take over as the planner for the firm. “We wanted to give clients comfort in the fact that there is a succession plan in place, that they will be dealing with people they know and they won’t have to start looking around for a new firm when the financial planner retires,” he says. As might be expected, they will be bringing in a replacement paraplanner well in advance of the handover.
