Hymans Robertson Investment Services has launched a new standalone income portfolio, created with adviser feedback.
HRIS Income will form part of the firm’s Core range and is designed to support a broad range of client planning needs.
The launch comes as the advice landscape undergoes significant change, in terms of demographics, taxation and the growing importance of intergenerational wealth, creating a broader role for income-focused investment.
Kate Rainbow, head of key accounts at Hymans Robertson Investment Services, said: “Our starting point is always our adviser partners. This new portfolio has come directly from spending time with our clients, listening to what they’re seeing and understanding what they need to deliver the best possible outcomes for their clients.
“The advice landscape is changing significantly. The changing IHT treatment of pensions is a good example advisers are constantly thinking about how they can optimise outcomes for their clients. Increasingly, that means helping clients to think differently about how they use their wealth during their lifetime and where they draw income from.
“We wanted to create a portfolio that gives advisers greater flexibility to support those conversations, whether that’s around gifting, trust planning, drawing income from different assets, or incorporating income into a broader tax and estate-planning strategy.”
HRIS Income has been designed to provide a natural yield from the underlying investments, giving advisers greater flexibility in how income can be incorporated into a client’s wider financial plan.
The firm said the portfolio also supports the growing focus on intergenerational wealth planning. By helping clients think about how and when they use and transfer wealth, advisers can create opportunities to involve children and other family members earlier.
Rainbow added: “It shifts the conversation from simply leaving an inheritance to helping families make better decisions about their wealth throughout their lifetimes, and enables advisers to build deeper, longer-lasting relationships across the family.”
