Standards International has launched a new ‘Business and Operations Management Network’ to support managers in gathering the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to progress their career.
The initiative, the first of its kind, will offer a platform for members to elevate their careers through a number of professional standards backed designations and certifications.
Michelle Hoskin, founder and CEO of Standards International, said: “Through our extensive research, we discovered that professionals in these key roles often feel unsupported and isolated within their firms. Our mission is to change that by giving them the platform and support they deserve while also showcasing their expertise through a recognised quality mark.”
The network offers three separate programmes; business manager programme; business development programme and the strategic manager programme.
The business manager programme is a 12 week course focusing on helping attendees pick up the core skills and understanding needed to develop as operational managers of excellence. It will also outline the role of operations manager in a modern business. Award at this level is the equivalent of a level 3.
For business operations professionals, the business development programme is a two-year course aimed at helping them to progress their career to the next level. Being awarded at this level is the equivalent of a level 5 qualification.
In addition, a strategic manager programme is set to launch in 2025, with interested participants able to join the waiting list.
Standards International said the programmes on offer cover a number of key concepts and methodologies, including ‘The Future You’, ‘The 5 Elements of Excellence’, ‘The 8 Principles of Excellence’ and ‘The Evolution of Excellence.’
As well as professional development, Hoskin said joining the network would also give members access to webinars, workshops and tailored panel sessions, as well as networking opportunities and a community to share ideas and advice.
