Go Beyond, a charity that provides respite holidays for young people, has been selected as Charity of the Year for 2025 by the Artemis Charitable Foundation.
Go Beyond runs two centres in Cornwall and the Peak District. It will receive a cash donation and benefit from fund-raising activities by Artemis’ 200 staff over the course of the next 12 months.
Michele Farmer, Go Beyond’s Chief Executive, said: “This is a wonderful start to 2025. Artemis’ support will go a long way towards helping us expand our sites so we can give much-needed breaks to more young people.
“Over the past 30 years plus we have helped more than 20,000 children. Many have never had a break or holiday of any kind – and in some cases they have never even travelled outside their own postcodes.
“They are dealing with complex and challenging situations – they might be caring for seriously ill parents or trying to cope with mental health issues. Giving them the opportunity to get away for a week and just play and live more simple lives has a profound and lasting positive impact.”
Derek Stuart, Chair of the Artemis Charitable Foundation, said: “Go Beyond was the overwhelming selection of our colleagues when it was put to a vote. As a charity, it can demonstrate long-lasting and meaningful change to the lives of young people. We were also very impressed with its plans to expand both of its centres to be able to offer more breaks.
“For Artemis colleagues there is the opportunity to fund-raise as more children can go on breaks. We are very much looking forward to working with Go Beyond and all the children over the course of 2025.”
