M&G: ‘Better together? Structure Matters!’ Session for PP Tech Insight Seminars confirmed

2 April 2026

The M&G tech team have confirmed their session for the 2026 Technical Insight Seminars. Which location will you be coming to see Les Cameron and the M&G team?

M&G have been on the road with us for many years and once again, we are delighted to be welcoming the technical team to our 2026 seminars, where they will be delivering the following session: Better together? Structure Matters!

The session will focus on one of the most overlooked areas in UK financial planning: the impact of choosing joint or single ownership, settlors and lives assured for trusts and life insurance bonds. Advisers often default to a joint recommendation but that choice can affect client tax outcomes, control, reporting efficiency and succession planning far more than many expect.

In this session the M&G team will explore:

  • The real pros and cons of joint v individual setups
  • How ownership decisions influence tax, access, and death claims
  • Why “joint” can sometimes be the least tax efficient option
  • Practical case studies highlighting the importance structure can make to client outcomes

The first opportunity to see this session will be in Exeter – although if you haven’t already signed up, this location is on a wait list.

There are plenty of other locations around the UK this year though to see M&G with the next location in the calendar being Cardiff, at the somewhat picturesque Hensol Castle. Les Cameron will be in attendance, so you’ll be able to fire your questions at THE tax man himself.
