Art of Finance opens Northern cohort paraplanner courses

18 September 2019

The Art of Finance has opened registration for the January Northern cohort of the Paraplanner and Compliance courses.

Initially launched in London, the Art of Paraplanning course starts on 23 January 2020. It last 20 months and is designed to take someone with little or no financial services experience through to a fully qualified, and trained, level 4 paraplanner.

The course is designed by the team behind outsourced paraplanning firm Para-Sols. In addition to the actual qualification, the course also delivers the wider knowledge and practical training that’s needed to be a successful paraplanner.

This includes:

  • Data gathering and plan analysis
  • Research processes and systems
  • Markets, funds and industry overview
  • Cashflow modelling
  • Report writing
  • Use of back office, platform and other finance technology
  • Case management and efficiency
  • Compliance and regulation

The Art of Compliance course also starts on 23 January and is designed to take someone through to a fully qualified, and trained, level 4 file checker. This course, likewise, provides for wider knowledge and practical training in addition to the actual qualification.

Natalie Bell, director of culture and engagement at The Verve Group, and the course director, said: “We set out from the beginning to have the courses running both in London and in the north. Following the success of the initial courses, we are now opening the northern cohorts. They will be hosted in our new offices in Darlington, marking the next stage of growth for The Verve Group growth (moving from 2,500sq foot to 6,500sq foot), and which have a built-in training facility.”

Founded by Cathi Harrison and her management team at The Verve Group, Art of Finance is a training solution for firms looking to upskill members of their team who want to further develop their career in financial services.

It also offers professional training for firms wanting to develop staff with succession planning and professional development or creating additional in-house resource, as well as staff morale in mind.
