CISI calls on firms to join Financial Planning Week

29 October 2026

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is calling on financial planners across the UK to take part in Financial Planning Week 2027.

Financial Planning Week is due to take place from 25-31 January 2027 and is a nationwide campaign to spread awareness of the benefits of financial planning.

CISI is encouraging more planners and firms to share their expertise, raise awareness of the benefits of financial planning and help people feel more confident about their financial futures by dedicating one hour of their time.

As an example, the industry body said firms could offer a free introductory financial planning appointment; deliver a financial literacy session at a school, college or community organisation; share practical financial wellbeing resources, tips or education videos, help people understand the role of a qualified financial planner; or organise a team activity to reach more people in their local community.

Carla Dunningham, chair of the CISI Financial Planning Forum committee, said: “Financial planners have knowledge and expertise that can make a real difference to people’s lives. CISI Financial Planning Week is an opportunity to share that expertise beyond our usual client relationships and help more people understand the choices available to them.

“We are asking planners to start with one simple question: what could I do with one hour to help someone feel more confident about their financial future?

“It might be a conversation, a session with young people or a practical resource shared with a local community. Whatever the activity, we want more planners to get involved and demonstrate what our profession can contribute. Together, we can make financial planning more accessible to more people across the UK.”
