The Verve Group has launched a not-for-profit organisation, ‘We Are Change’, aimed at attracting new talent to the financial services sector.
With more advisers set to retire in the next few years and the Covid-19 pandemic causing a rise in unemployment figures, We Are Change will target individuals who may not have previously considered financial services as a career route to build capacity across all roles and all levels within the industry.
Cathi Harrison, CEO, The Verve Group, says: “Now is an opportune time to engage and educate new talent to attract them to finance – get them to think about starting a career and not just finding a job.
“I understand the uncertainty advisers are feeling right now, we feel it as a business too, but I truly believe that now isn’t the time to standstill. It’s time to come together collectively and build the profession we all talk so passionately about creating.”
The initiative’s training framework will support individuals to achieve the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and equip them with the necessary practical skills needed for a range of roles including paraplanning, advice, compliance and financial administration.
Potential recruits, who will go through a rigorous recruitment and selection process, have the option to study full time for one year or part time for two years for free.
To fund the programme, The Verve Group has called upon those working in financial services, from advisers to asset managers and product providers, to sponsor as many new entrants as possible. It will cost sponsors £85 per person per month for two years which will cover their study text, exam entries and CII membership fees.
