Verve Foundation launches Adviser Incubator

29 April 2023

The Verve Foundation has launched of the Adviser Incubator, an initiative designed to support advisers who are newly authorised, those looking to set up a new advisory business, and those looking to grow from being a ‘one-person’ firm.

The structured 12-week programme will provide firms with the support and guidance needed to really kick off their businesses the right way.

Applications to be part of this groundbreaking programme are now open, and an event will be hosted by The Verve Foundation in London on 15th May, giving the opportunity to hear more about the programme and chat with experts, including Laura Dawes from the FCA.

Hayley Rabbets, head of The Verve Foundation said: “We know that getting started with your own business is an incredibly daunting and challenging time. There are many practical concerns, including corporate structure, financing, cashflow planning and juggling all the business hats you have to wear in the early days. When starting a financial advisory firm there are all the same challenges, but with a whole load more. Even for those with heaps of experience in financial services, it can be a huge step going it alone – but we’ve got your back!”

As a not-for-profit organisation, all initiatives are funded through partnerships with other like-minded individuals and companies, with the common goal of helping to grow the financial services industry with innovative, bold, fresh new talent.

Talking about the initiative, Sarah Lyons, chief marketing officer of lead sponsor Parmenion said: “There is no doubt that independent financial advice brings enormous value to those that access it, and for those that practice, it is a rewarding career choice.  But setting up a financial planning business from scratch can be a complex and time-consuming process, and navigating it alone is hard. That’s why we are so delighted to be working with Cathi, Emma and the team at The Verve Foundation to encourage more talent into financial advice, and to support them in starting their businesses.”

Also supporting the very first cohort are Royal London. Siobhan Barrow, UK Distribution director at Royal London commented: “We actively champion the value of impartial advice so are delighted to support the Adviser Incubator. It’s a unique opportunity to be involved in a new approach to developing successful adviser businesses. We know the demand for advice continues to outstrip availability, so it’s exciting to be playing a meaningful role in helping to address this challenge, enabling more advisers to build the financial resilience of this generation and generations to come.”

Applications are now open and will close on Friday 26th May 2023. Head to http://thevervefoundation.co.uk/ to find out more, apply for the programme and register for the event.
