Our new Editor – Natalie Dawes, marks her first month at Professional Paraplanner with an invitation to join us for our first event of the year on 5th March, an event she says can “turn theory into something more tangible, practical and actually relevant, all while surrounding you with people who genuinely get what your day-to-day looks like.”
I wanted to take a moment to say a proper hello. I’m a month in as Editor, and while it’s been something of a whirlwind, albeit in a really good way. I have catching up with so many of you already, cooking up ideas and planning some great content for the coming weeks and months.
With that in mind, I wanted to extend a personal invitation to our first event of the year, our Investment Committee Seminar, taking place on Thursday 5th March in London.
This event is always one of our most popular, and in my admittedly humble opinion, one of the most worthwhile. The conversations are practical, the insights are genuinely useful, and the environment is designed to help paraplanners build both confidence and capability, particularly in areas that can sometimes feel a little ‘eh?’ from the outside.
I remember this all too well. A few years ago, I sat on my firm’s Investment Committee and, to be completely honest, had no idea what on Earth I was doing there. I knew I should have a voice, but I wasn’t sure where or how to use it. An event like this would have been invaluable in helping me understand where I could contribute, add value and ultimately influence better outcomes for clients.
The same goes for my investment studies. To this day, R02 still gives me the shivers. This was due to lack of any real exposure, so much of it felt abstract. That’s why the sessions at this event really matter. They turn the theory into something more tangible, practical and actually relevant, all while surrounding you with people who genuinely get what your day-to-day looks like.
And on that note, there is one more thing. I’d really love to meet you.
One of the biggest reasons I stepped into this role is because of the paraplanning community and I would love to play a part in making it even stronger. Connecting with as many of you as possible is key, and our events are one of the best ways for us to do exactly that.
