For a real look ‘Inside Paraplanning’ the PFS Paraplanners Panel has launched their very own podcast, with none other than our very own Rob Kinsgbury as the special guest on episode one, available to listen to now.
In this article, PFS Paraplanning Panel member – Hannah Wynick says, ‘Whether you’re a seasoned paraplanner, an aspiring one, or a financial planner wanting to understand your team better, the podcast will offer insights that feel both relevant and relatable.’
If you know me, then you definitely know that I have no problem talking. In fact, I probably talk far too much.
So, when the PFS Paraplanners panel floated the idea of starting a monthly podcast for paraplanners, hosted by paraplanners, I didn’t hesitate for a second and offered to co-host. Because how often do you get the chance to talk about something you genuinely love with people who completely understand the joy (and chaos) of our work?
After a few months of planning and recording, PFS Paraplanners is proud to launch Inside Paraplanning – the new podcast dedicated to taking a deeper, honest look at the everyday reality of the profession we’re all so passionate about.
One of the best parts of this podcast is the variety of voices you’ll hear from. For our first episode, which is already LIVE, we had the absolute pleasure of interviewing the outgoing editor of Professional Paraplanner, Rob Kingsbury, about his time at the helm of the magazine and website.
Inside Paraplanning is all about lifting the lid on what paraplanners actually do – not the vague job descriptions, but the real, behind the scenes work that keeps financial planning ticking along so nicely. We’re talking the wins, the challenges, the evolving best practices, and the bits that make you want to pour your fifth cup of tea before 10am (Yorkshire tea for me obviously).
With several further episodes already recorded, you can expect open, honest conversations about topics that really matter, such as:
- What constitutes client vulnerability
- The joys of cashflow modelling from a self-confessed cashflow geek
- How we write suitability reports that people will actually want to read
- Whether we think AI will take our jobs in the next 10 minutes (spoiler alert – no!)
- Training, development and what to do if you want to move on from Paraplanning
And yes, of course my co-hosts – Alan Gow and Laura MacLeod – and I will be keeping it practical, relatable, and grounded in real experience.
We’re blending interviews with special guests who are changing our corner of the profession, alongside our own PFS Paraplanner Panel insights. Whether we’re talking about career development, exam stresses, or future opportunities in the profession, our goal is to make this podcast the space for the conversations that often happen behind closed doors and bring them into the open.
For me, paraplanning has always been more than a job. It’s a profession with heart, thoughtfulness, intelligence, and momentum. It deserves a big voice, and I’m thrilled to be part of helping create it.
Whether you’re a seasoned paraplanner, an aspiring one, or a financial planner wanting to understand your team better, the podcast will offer insights that feel both relevant and relatable.
