The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment has seen nearly 300 applications for its new Women in Finance initiative.
The new initiative will award 100 complimentary CISI memberships to help women take their first step into finance or return with confidence after time away.
The membership will provide successful applicants with practical tools, learning and connections to help them build and grow their careers. This includes access to CISI’s smart learning platform, with over 2,000 learning items; events across the world, access to the CISI mentoring scheme; the ability to track their own learning, and the CISI mobile app for learning anywhere.
CISI said applications for the complimentary membership came from 16 countries, with the UK, Ethiopia and Botswana seeing the highest number of applicants.
Tracy Vegro, CEO of CISI, said: “We are proud to welcome these women into our global community, following a fantastic response to this new programme. What stands out is their drive and determination. This programme is about giving them the tools, support and confidence to build lasting careers in finance.
“As a professional body and educational charity, we believe talent should not be limited by background, location or circumstances. We want more women not only entering the profession but staying, progressing and leading within it. That is why this work matters.
“The CISI is a signatory to the UK HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter and continues to take practical steps to support women at every stage of their careers.”
