Chartered Financial Planner, Jane Hodges, has been appointed to the Consumer Duty Alliance (CDA) Board.

The Consumer Duty Alliance, launched in March 2023, is an independent, ‘not-for-profit’ professional body. It aims to support the retail finance sector in the adoption and implementation of the FCA’s Consumer Duty requirements through the alliance of like-minded individuals and firms.

Recently appointed to the CDA Board, Jane Hodges brings over 30 years’ experience across financial planning, executive leadership, project management, compliance and technology.

Jane is director of a digital-first IFA practice, she combines deep technical expertise with a strong commitment to professional standards, reflected in credentials including Fellowship of the PFS, SOLLA accreditation and the STEP Certificate for Financial Advisers.

As Chair of the CDA’s Cross Border Alliance taskforce, she already works closely with the professional body to champion better outcomes for clients with international lives and assets, as well as raising awareness of the relevance of cross-border issues amongst UK advisers.

Jane said: “For me, the Alliance stands out because it is led by practitioners, who can bring that lived experience to sharing good practice and improving client outcomes.

“It is vital that, as a profession, we step up and shape the narrative with our clients, while continuing to work collaboratively with the FCA. We have a shared responsibility to protect our clients and to ensure we are equipped to deliver the best possible outcomes for them.”

Keith Richards, CEO of the Consumer Duty Alliance, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Jane and her passion for the profession to the Board.

“For all who know her, she unquestionably brings a wealth of experience, a strong sense of purpose and coalface insight, particularly in relation to cross-border issues and technology for smaller firms.

The Consumer Duty Alliance community continues to grow at pace, reflecting a clear appetite across the sector for a non-commercial, independent body with experienced leadership that is practitioner-led and focused on improving consumer outcomes in line with the government’s growth agenda”.
