Last month we held the first of our Team Leader events in London and Nina Jones, Senior Customer Experience & Operations Leader at Fidelity International, opened the day sharing inspirational stories from her own experiences leading many-a-team. Nina also recommended a few personal development books that have supported her leadership – and who does love a good book recommendation?
Our April 2026 Team Leader event was a brilliant day, with both seasoned and newer team leaders in attendance. A huge thanks to Fidelity International who have sponsored this event for many years and continue to champion paraplanning – Professional Paraplanner is delighted to be working with you once again.
Here are Nina’s seven book recommendations, as well as a couple worthwhile podcasts to tap into as well:
What Nina says are ‘classics’:
- Good to Great by Jim Collins
- The 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen R. Covey
- Start with Why by Simon Sinek
Nina’s recommendations for the brain:
- The Chimp Paradox by Professor Steve Peters
- Mindset by Dr Carol S. Dweck
Other interesting reads that get Nina’s seal of approval:
- Drive by Daniel H. Pink
- Dare to Lead by Bréne Brown
Headphones on, these are Nina’s recommended listens:
- Oliver Burkeman is Busy on Radio 4
- How great leaders inspire action from Simon Sinek
