Communication course launches for paraplanners

4 October 2021

Motem Ltd has launched a six module online communication course for advisers, paraplanners and administrators, designed to increase engagement, efficiency and confidence with clients, firms and staff.

The 6-step Communicate for Impact programme addresses common challenges and frustrations felt by paraplanners, clients and the FCA – namely, increased efficiencies; better understanding of advice and clear communication embedded into company cultures.

Melissa Kidd, director of Motem Ltd (pictured), says the launch follows there running of a pilot programme last year.  “We saw hard-to-get-hold-of clients respond the next day, firms checking and proofing times reduced by half, confidence went up across the board, as did client feedback.”

Candidates can work at their own pace within the programme, and each module includes bite-sized video tutorials, downloadable tools, skill-building assignments, feedback and support to ensure participants’ communications are concise, client friendly and compliant, Kidd says.

The 6 modules are:
1. Attention: make sure people read what you write
2. Action: get faster responses without chasing
3. Articulate: convey technical concepts so that your clients understand them first time
4. Axe: know what to leave out so that you’re concise, client friendly and compliant
5. Assemble: structure and layout so that your client keeps reading
6. Assimilate: consolidate, integrate and set up habits for long-lasting results

Melissa has worked alongside the finance sector since 2012 and regularly speaks at PFS and CII events. She collaborated with Caroline Stuart of Sparrow Paraplanning and Fellow of the PFS to ensure the material is technically robust. Melissa’s background is in psychology, coaching and marketing. Drawing on her expertise in brain-based learning, the course is designed to equip participants to get results.

Subsequent intakes will be 30th October, 30th November and 10th January.
