AIC updates flagship training programme

9 July 2026

The Association of Investment Companies has updated its flagship Investment Company Accreditation.

A total of 395 investment professionals have now completed the Accreditation, a training programme specific to investment companies, covering subjects such as discounts and premiums, gearing and the income features of investment trusts.

The AIC said its updated version will enable advisers, wealth managers and investment professionals to keep their knowledge of the sector fresh.

The free programme consists of four online courses of 45 minutes each. These can be completed one by one and there is no time limit to complete the courses. Each course comes with its own CPD certificate and on successful completion of all four courses, the user receives an Accreditation certificate from the AIC.

Nick Britton, research director of the Association of Investment Companies, said: “With our training materials freshly updated, it’s a good time to get going on the Investment Company Accreditation or complete it if you’ve already started. We’ve received excellent feedback on the programme, with nine out of 10 respondents saying it gave them more confidence in recommending investment companies.”
