Sesame Bankhall launches apprenticeship scheme
28 January 2019
Sesame Bankhall Group (SBG) has launched a new apprenticeship programme to help its advisory firms boost their staff development and recruitment.
SBG has teamed up with training specialist Simply Academy to offer apprentices a study programme across a variety of roles including advisers, paraplanners, mortgage advisers and administrators.
The programme will enable those who join to achieve an industry qualification, such as Level 4 Diploma, along with the necessary business skills and behaviours for the role.
Lisa Winnard, group people and service director at SBG said apprenticeships are growing in popularity as an effective and cost efficient way for firms to develop their people and bring new advisers on board.
She said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Simply Academy, who are a leading apprenticeship provider. Combining our expertise and reach through this structured programme will open up a valuable new training and development avenue for mortgage, protection and wealth firms across Sesame, Bankhall and PMS Mortgage Club.”
Martin Schultheiss, group managing director at SBG, commented: “To ensure that advisers remain at the absolute centre of all advice it’s imperative that our profession builds a sustainable future by attracting and nurturing the next generation. Research has highlighted a future workforce that’s looking for flexibility, freedom, uncapped earning potential and an entrepreneurial flavor – all of which our industry can offer.”
Mark Fenwick, head of apprenticeships at Simply Academy, added that industry improvements in recent years had led to a step change in financial apprenticeship standards and it was on a mission to help firms understand the opportunities created as a result.
