We are currently transitioning our focus to clients with investable assets in excess of £1 million and those that have more complex wealth planning needs. This sets us apart from many traditional financial planning practices and allows us to work more closely with a smaller number of clients to provide a truly bespoke service.

Location: Taylor Money Ltd, Marina House, North Parade, Falmouth TR11 2TF (flexible or remote working supported)

Hours: Full-time (9am – 5pm Mon-Thurs, 8am – 4pm Fri)

Salary: c. £40,000 plus bonus and benefits (negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience)

Job description: Working at the heart of our advice process, you will join our paraplanning team to become a key component in assisting the advisers in preparing and delivering high quality advice to our clients. We are a busy firm seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking team member who wants to help Taylor Money complete our transition into the high-net-worth market. They should have a systematic, consistent, and structured approach to their work with great organisation and communication skills. They will be technical by nature and have the ability to build rapport with the team, companies, and our clients. Their willingness to bring expertise and experience in complex planning will help further develop our advice process.

Daily Tasks

  • Communications: discussing cases with advisers, preparing reports and letters, contacting providers as part of the research process, communicating, and working with the Client Services Team when sending out reports, client correspondence when necessary (mostly email).
  • Preparing and maintaining client files: confirming risk profiles and client objectives, identifying information, compiling cashflow analysis.
  • Organising recommendations: identifying areas for planning, conducting research to find solutions, working with advisers to select appropriate asset allocations and investment strategies, preparing high quality and often complex Wealth Planning Reports.
  • Implementing recommendations: completing application forms (where necessary), ensuring all compliance paperwork is in order, implementing plans with the help of the Client Services Team.
  • Reviewing client files, portfolios products and processes: reviewing portfolios, working closely with advisers to help add value to this process.
  • Processing business: seeing cases through from start to finish, completing and checking paperwork, interacting with clients and companies to ensure information is correct, chasing for information and action where necessary and recording data on our CRM system (XPlan).
  • Project management: take ownership of various advice-specific projects with the guidance of the adviser and management teams and be responsible for the delivery and reporting of these projects.
  • Maintaining a tidy work environment: helping keep the office organised and tidy and a great environment to work in.
  • Attend company events: support the team at various events and meet and greet clients and contacts.

Skills and requirements essential for this role:

  • Paraplanning experience
  • Wealth Planning Report writing
  • Dealing with complex advice cases
  • High level of attention to detail with regard to written communication including spelling and grammar
  • Positive can-do attitude, motivated and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage/prioritise a busy workflow
  • Ability to explain and convey technical concepts in a clear and understandable format
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • English and Maths GCSE Grade C/ 4 or an equivalent

Skills and requirements desirable for this role:

  • Experience with using XPlan
  • Experience of working within the Financial Services industry
  • Industry specific qualifications (CII or similar)
