We seek a full or part time CII Diploma Qualified Paraplanner to join the financial planning team. The atmosphere is professional, and the workload busy, but with time to think and to enjoy the varied work.

The role

To provide client management, client recommendation reports, technical research and support to Wealth Managers, as required.

You will be responsible for:

• Drafting client recommendation letters, reports, post-review suitability letters and providing technical support to Wealth Managers.
• Recommendations will vary in complexity depending on client circumstances but will include investment, protection, pension and retirement planning, IHT and succession planning, tax matters and business financial planning matters
• Managing your own workflow and wealth manager and client expectations
• Carrying out research and analysis to formulate appropriate recommendations
• Liaising with investment managers as required to formulate suitable recommendations
• Obtaining illustrations and other relevant literature to accompany client reports
• Maintaining a high level of technical expertise through regular training, professional qualifications (where appropriate) and ongoing CPD
• Ad-hoc project work, as required

What you will need to succeed:

• Committed to a career in financial services with a minimum of two years’ paraplanning experience
• Minimum qualification: Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or appropriate level 4 qualification. Further qualifications e.g. progression towards CII Advanced Diploma welcomed
• High level of accuracy, excellent attention to detail and client focus
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Well organised, methodical and able to prioritise workload.
• Good understanding of compliance issues
• Work effectively within a team
• Able to work within defined business processes
• Prepared to undertake further professional qualifications, if required
• Commit to your personal development and the development of technical skills and know-how
• IT literate
• Knowledge of Adviser Office/IRESS Software preferred but training will be given
• Knowledge of paraplanning research and analysis tools e.g. Financial Express Analytics, Select a pension, cash flow modelling tools required
• Technical knowledge is a pre-requisite for this role and applicants without an appropriate level 4 qualification as a minimum will not be considered
