Our first three speakers to be announced are:
Rory Percival Consulting
TOPIC: Suitability reports
Suitability reports are a core part of the advice process and central to the paraplanner’s role. In January 2018 the requirements for suitability reporting changed and now they are needed for a hold recommendation as well as buy and sell.
With his background as a compliance officer and FCA Technical Specialist, and in light of the new requirements, in this session Rory will focus on the information now needed in reports at the various stages, including annual review, as well as providing his views on good and poor practice for suitability reports, and clarification of exactly what does and does not need to be in them.
TOPIC: Keeping abreast of pensions regulation and tax
Paul Squirrell has promised he will be keeping his seminar sessions “topical”. With the FCA’s consultation paper on Defined Benefit transfers expected to be published in the run up to the Technical Insight Seminars, the repercussions for paraplanners and clients are likely to feature as part of his sessions, alongside practical deep dives into other pensions rules, regulation and taxation matters.
TOPIC: Due diligence on Discretionary Fund Managers (DFMs)
Andrew Denham-Davis will be drawing on the firm’s extensive research, processes and experience to delve into the technical elements of undertaking discretionary fund management due diligence.
