Schroders and Dynamic Planner are the latest companies to confirm details of their presentations at our Investment Committee Seminar on 6 March.

The seminar is designed with paraplanners in mind, to cover key themes you should know in 2025, in particular given the changing global geo-political landscape, as well as aligning investment and tax strategies to help deliver better outcomes for clients.

Heading up the CPD accredited seminar will be Fidelity International’s James Bird, a popular speaker at our events.

James’ presentation – The Age of Empires; rebuilding in a diverging world – will embark on an exploration of the big economic cycle. It will identify recent changes in the world order, particularly in response to globalisation, technological advancement, and shifting political alliances. These factors are reshaping market conditions, creating both challenges and opportunities for investors. And it will look at the effects a diverging world has on asset classes like fixed income and equities, highlighting the strategies that we believe can enhance investment portfolios in this evolving environment.

Schroders’ fund manager Tara Fitzpatrick will analyse the evolving investment landscape shaped by macroeconomic shifts and geopolitical developments. This presentation will explore key investment trends and challenges while providing actionable insights to help you achieve your clients’ financial objectives in an era of transition.

Steph Willcox, head actuary at Dynamic Planner will be looking at cashflow planning with a focus on ensuring the best approach to identifying a client’s investment risk and presenting that within the cashflow to enhance client understanding.
Steph will be able to talk through the importance of effectively identifying not just the client’s attitude to risk but also their willingness to take risk, and how with the help of paraplanners, this can lead to better outcomes.

Also confirmed to present is Baillie Gifford’s Qian Zhang, who will deliver a thematic view of Asia Pacific notably, when investing in China – a topic that is likely to dominate the press as Donald Trump retakes the Presidency of the US.

Jeff Keen, Head of Fixed Income at Waverton, will explore the evolving landscape of bond markets and the compelling opportunities they present in the year ahead. Through an analysis of key economic factors such as growth, inflation, and interest rate expectations for 2025, he will establish a foundation for understanding the shifting dynamics shaping fixed-income investments.

And Will Clark, Head of Business Development, Guinness Ventures will provide insights into how paraplanners can align investment and tax strategies through Venture Capital investing.

The seminar will be in-person and will be must-attend event for all paraplanners sitting on their firms’ Investment Committees or who are involved in researching and recommending investments for client portfolios, MPS, CIPs and CRPs.

Trainee advisers are also welcome to attend this Seminar.

The event takes place at the ETC Venues, Fenchurch Street, London. Starting at 9am and expected to finish at 3.30pm, with lunch provided.
